HALO - Dance for Autism
President
THE HALO FOUNDATION is a non-profit organization that utilizes the art of dance to promote awareness, knowledge, and raise funding for families affected by Autism.
As President of Corona del Mar High Chapter, I brought awareness of Autism. Working closely with the Founder, we raised funds through multiple local events. Our annual HALO show is only successful due to multitude of volunteers and teamwork. Together we are able to raise funds and awareness. Variety of groups perform in the show, one highlighted act was performed by an individual effected by autism. The HALO show is the biggest fundraiser of the year, providing opportunity for many local schools to participate and give back for an amazing cause.
FIT-4-LIFE Club
Founder & President
FIT-4-LIFE club at Corona del Mar High School educated a group of 30 teenagers on importance of a healthy mind, body, and spirit. We met once a month discussing many topics: importance water intake, need for sleep, why exercise, meditation, food labels, time management, gratitude, stress reduction and so much more. With this new knowledge of building healthy habits, we encouraged each other to implement the concepts in our daily lives. Additionally, we gathered minimum of once a month outside of club for 45-minute spin class, 5-mile hike, swimming, dog walking, meditation, museum visit or yoga class. “FIT-4-LIFE” is a motto I will forever live by and continue to practice the healthy habits.
Dance To Your Door
President
Dance to Your Door was created 7 years ago by a fellow dancer at Corona del Mar High. Member starting Freshman year and Vice President in junior year. I am honored to lead this club as a dancer and continue to serve our older community in Orange County. We organize 25 dancers on campus from Orchesis dance company, intermediate dance class, or song/cheerleaders, together we create routines to perform at various senior centers.
As a passionate group of dancers, our goal is to share the art of dance and bring little happiness those with limited access. I truly believe every dancer will not forget the smiling faces and enthusiasm. It is great opportunity to share little joy and entertainment with our local senior citizens.
